Drum Tuition – Chris Hough

I have been playing drums for nearly twenty years and have been teaching drums four years. My lessons will cover styles, reading skills, technique and timing, and important Kit maintenance.

When I'm not teaching I work as both a professional drummer and a theatre sound engineer in various locations throughout the country.

I have worked on many professional theatre productions as a drummer throughout the last five years and play with the local function band "Lady and the Vamp".

Parent/Carer and Tutor Agreement

The voice and instrument tutors advertised on The Academy Selsey website have a current DBS check and are recommended as experienced tutors of their advertised instrument/s.

Up to date timetables for lessons will be displayed outside the Music Room.

Beyond timetabling of the lessons, the organisation and administration of voice or instrument lessons will be the responsibility of the instrument tutor, not The Academy Selsey. Tutors will notify Mr Jackson by email of any new students, before lessons commence.

Parents/carers will organise payment for lessons with tutors directly. Payment should be for a term  (six weeks) up front, or in instalments at the tutor’s discretion, but tutors are recommended not to begin lessons until payment is received, or carry on lessons beyond the amount received.  In return the tutor agrees to ensure that pupils receive the time they have paid for, and will reorganise any lessons cancelled by the tutor.

Parents/carers should notify tutors of illness or planned absences as soon as possible, refunds and rearrangement of lessons in this case will be at the tutor’s discretion.  The Academy Selsey does not assume responsibility for settling payment disputes, though any concerns about lessons can be brought to Mr Jackson in writing for review.

Organising voice or instrument lessons to take place at The Academy Selsey with an advertised tutor is considered to be a confirmation that the above agreement is understood by both parties and that the terms of the agreement will be adhered to.
