Overview of Course Content

During Year  PSRE lessons  the units of study will develop a student’s understanding of the following areas:

  • Body Image

-What is beauty? Are we Image obsessed? Why do we celebrate celebrity and does celebrity culture place unrealistic expectations on us?

  • Healthy Relationships

-Bullying, types of abuse, Cyber Bullying and understanding how our behaviour can affect other people

  • Spending Saving and Consumer Rights

-Identifying how people earn and spend money and what your rights are when you buy different products

Body Image

This unit focuses developing a healthy relationship with our appearance. It will focus on how the media can place undue pressure on young people. Students will also learn how to develop their own self esteem.

Healthy Relationships

This unit will focus on helping students to understand how maintain positive relationships. It will focus on Bullying and the effect that it can have on other people.

This unit aims to help students to take responsibility for their money and help them to identify their rights when making purchases.
