Charity Work

Charity Work

Each year we aim to raise money for charitable causes in the local area and with links to the school.

Presentation to lucia england2015/2016. We raised £400 towards sponsorship for former student, Lucia England who is taking part in a university cycle ride from London to Paris.  Lucia is raising money for Breast Cancer Now, a research charity dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer.  Lucia came in to school to tell us about life as a student at the University of Kent, where she is reading Mathematics and about the many opportunities life at university has to offer.  The council was proud to present Lucia with a cheque at the end of her talk.  The money was raised through a range of original ideas and activities thought up and put into action by the school council, and we hope some of them will become regular events in the school year.

2016/2017. The School Council is busy raising money for Erin Aldridge, a young relative of one of our current students.  Erin suffers from Cerebral Palsy and needs to raise a total of £40,000 for an operation so that she can walk.  Erin’s favourite colour is pink, so we’re wearing pink to school on Friday 7th April to complete our fund-raising activities for this year.
