Year 10 Curriculum Plan – Triple Science GCSEs

 

Overview of Course Content:

 

Students study three different GCSE subjects over Y10 & Y11 to gain separate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Physics include progression in the subject content and consistency in the exam questions, so that students have the best preparation for A-level.

 

Learning will be assessed by:

 

There will be two Biology, two Chemistry and two Physics papers, each 1 hour and 45 minutes.

 

How each exam is assessed:

 

Written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes

Foundation and Higher Tier

100 marks

50% of GCSE

Questions

 

Multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response

 

Controlled assessment/Coursework:

 

 There will be no coursework or controlled assessment
