Overview of Course Content

During year 10, this course will develop a student’s understanding of the following areas:

 

  • Applying knowledge and understanding of drama when making, performing and responding to drama.
  • Developing a range of theatrical skills and applying them to create performances.
  • Working collaboratively to generate, develop and communicate ideas.
  • Reflecting on and evaluating their own work and the work of others.

Exploring and developing acting skills, and student’s knowledge and understanding of different drama styles and theatre practitioners.

Devising drama - component 01/02

 

Exploring devising drama from a stimulus. Applying theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions and to analyse and evaluate their own work.

 

 

Mock examination of the devising drama exam (component 01/02).

Spring 1

Devising drama - component 01/02

(30% of total GCSE Drama)

 

Exploring and developing a devised drama performance using the chosen OCR examining stimulus. Applying theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions and to analyse and evaluate their own work through a written portfolio, continuously developed throughout the unit.

Exploring and developing a devised drama performance using the chosen OCR examining stimulus. Applying theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions and to analyse and evaluate their own work through a written portfolio of work, continuously developed throughout the unit.
