Key Stage 3

In KS3, students learn about the various Genres in drama, techniques, drama strategies and terminology to help them develop practical group and individual skills.

Students will work within a unique Drama Studio equipped with lighting rig and adjustable curtains to aid students in their understanding of staging and performance.

During KS3 students explore a variety of topics which include: Pantomime, Silent Movies, Comedy, Script work, Urban Myths and Mask work. All of which are designed to develop students communication, group work and understanding of theatre through exciting focused lessons.

Assessment is using the Arts Council of England and Drama Objectives Bank:

AO1 – Rehearsal

AO2 – Performing

AO3 – Responding

The lessons are mainly practical but evaluative work through written self and peer-assessment helps students to see progression.
