Physical Education in years 7-9 looks at a wide variety of sports and activities. Through these activities, students will develop their competence and confidence in a wide variety of sports and activities. They will develop invaluable skills involved in leadership and teamwork, as well as the importance of being a lifelong sports performer, as well as how they can enjoy sport throughout their lives. The core assessments focus throughout all activities are ‘Practical Sports Performance and Knowledge’, ‘Leadership in Sport’ and ‘Fitness for Sport, Exercise and Health’. Assessment of these concepts is done through a mixture of practical and termly written assessments.

Activities that will be covered in years 7-9 include; Football, Netball, Basketball, Rugby, Dance, gymnastics, Badminton, Tennis, Cricket and athletics.

Opportunities to complete Extra-Curricular activities are available every lunch time, and every Tuesday-Friday 3pm-4pm. These activities vary from term to term depending on the season, and either develop skills covered in lesson further, or offer pupils the opportunity to broaden their experience within sport.
